With just a week to go until the EU Referendum, bookmaker Ladbrokes has reported that a London-based punter has placed a £35,000 bet on 'Remain'.
Bookies have been forced to slashed their 'Brexit' odds throughout the week, but 'Remain' is at time of writing still odds-on with all major betting firms.
Ladbrokes reported on Thursday that a punter had walked into their Edgware Road shop in London shortly before 10am to place the massive five-figure wager at odds of 8/15.
The customer - said to have been placing his first-ever bet in that shop - stands to collect over £53,000 next week should Britain vote to remain part of the European Union.
Ladbrokes spokesperson Jessica Bridge told BetOnPolitics.co.uk: "This is the biggest bet we've taken across the entire EU referendum, but whilst the big boys are out to play it's not all doom and gloom for Brexit supporters as their odds are moving in a positive way."
