Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are now both huge odds-on favourites for their parties' Presidential nominations, according to bookmaker Ladbrokes.

The Super Tuesday primary results left the front-runners clear of the opposition in the White House betting with Clinton at 8/15 and Trump at 2/1 with Ladbrokes.

The odds now suggest there is an 80% chance that the pair will meet in November's general election.

Ladbrokes spokesman Matthew Shaddick told BetOnPolitics.co.uk: "The punters who got on Trump at 100/1 last summer have just got a little closer to a huge pay-out.

"This was not a particularly Super Tuesday for us bookies.”

A disappointing night for Marco Rubio saw his odds drift out to 16/1, with no obvious prospect of the Republicans finding a single non-Trump candidate to unite around.

The split field led to the bookies quoting 3/1 that no single candidate will wrap up the GOP nomination before July's convention.
